Commercial and business sites are developed based on the client’s needs and the audience he/she wishes to address. Examples are available from the Current Sites page. Sites use various technology; some are ASP with MS Access backends; some use PERL; and some use PHP with MYSQL databases. Most sites use a scripting language for one activity or another. Javascript is commonly used for form validation, and PERL and PHP are used for form processing. Occasionally ASP is used to process a form; usually when the form needs to provide a form for printing from e-mail. Many of the sites have been developed for UALR faculty and staff. Some are used to collect data for theses and others are used to maintain databases.
